This course provides you with the theoretical skill and the practical skill that you require to dive anywhere in the world. Your professional SSI instructor will help you through the learning process.

Each new skill gets you closer to the day you board our boat for your liveaboard dive trip.

Theory gives you the knowledge required to dive in open water conditions. This takes the form of classroom presentations and lectures by the instructor in the comfort of our new air-conditioned classrooms.

Confined water training takes place in our gas-heated pool at our state of the art diver training centre, during which time you will master the skills of diving.

At Cairns Dive Centre, the emphasis is on increased training in actual dive conditions. The basis of our training concept is thorough practice of scuba skills in the controlled environment of our new diver training centre. These skills combined with the understanding of safe diving practices and theory, prepare you for the ultimate Great Barrier Reef experience.

Itinerary

Day 1: Academic and Pool training

9:00am Complimentary transfers from your Cairns city accommodation
9:15am Theory lectures
11:30am Lunch break – you have the opportunity to do the dive medical if you haven’t already done so. This is not included in the course price and medical fees are payable directly to the doctor
1:00pm Pool training
4:30pm Return to your Cairns city accommodation

Day 2: Academic and Pool training

7:45am Complimentary transfers from your Cairns city accommodation
8:15am Pool training
11:30am Lunch break
12:30pm Classroom lectures
4:30pm Return to your Cairns city accommodation

Day 3: Diving the Outer Great Barrier Reef

6:45am Boat briefing and theory exam
7:30am Depart Cairns onboard M.V. REEF-KIST for a transfer to the OUTER GREAT BARRIER REEF via Fitzroy Island, where you will do your first two (2) training dives towards your certification.
Lunch included - arriving Cairns approximately
4.45 pm. Make your own way home

Day 4: Diving the Outer Great Barrier Reef

7.00 am Meet at the marina
7.30am departure on our luxury vessel, M.V. REEF-KIST for a fast transfer to the OUTER GREAT BARRIER REEF via Fitzroy Island,where you will do your final two (2) training dives - Four (4) dives in total on this course. Lunch included - arriving Cairns approximately
4.45 pm.Make your own way home.
